Wall Decals on Textured Walls: What Works
Smooth painted drywall is the easy case. Texture is where wall graphics get honest.
- Light orange peel: many quality wall vinyls still conform if burnished carefully.
- Heavy knockdown / popcorn: large solid panels can bridge peaks and leave air; smaller cut letters often fare better than giant solid sheets.
- Brick and block: usually need specialty materials or a different graphic approach altogether.
Always test a sample swatch in an inconspicuous corner. Texture, paint sheen, and dust all change adhesion.
